DeLeon was announced as The Cab's new drummer on January 3, 2011. The band wrote their first single, "Stay", in collaboration with DeLeon, all in the hope that he had "an international hit". "Stay" went on to be The Cab's first Billboard Top 40 hit, reaching No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In May 2011, the band began their run as the opening act on Taylor Swift's Speak Now tour.
In December 2011, The Cab made their way to the center stage of the Grammy Awards. "Popular", their Grammy winning single was nominated for Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards. The awards were presented at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California on February 8, 2012. Drummer Alexander DeLeon accepted the award on behalf of The Cab.
DeLeon left the band in the middle of 2012 in order to concentrate on performing as a solo act. He wrote four tracks for The Cab's third album, which is now due out later in the year. In late 2013, an acoustic version of "Popular" by The Cab was the featured song on the soundtrack of the horror film Oculus. DeLeon later joined Good Charlotte's North American tour as their drummer in early 2015. He played along to a crowd singing along to "Symphony Soldier". d2c66b5586
